Behavioural Safety Initiative

I recently completed the development and implementation of a behavioural safety initiative, "Always Safe," at an industrial facility. The operations team at the facility where largely reactive in their H&S approach with an over-emphasis on plant conditions. Their accident rate was significantly higher than the industry average as a result. On my recommendations, they adopted a new App based reporting tool as well as adopting the principle of having safety related conversations with staff and contractors as part of their safety walks. This initiative has significantly improved proactive health and safety practices, increased incident reporting, and successfully led to a remarkable 20% reduction in the incident rate over a 6-month period.
